[AMRadio] Building the Dummy Load

Hi Tony:
I picked up a dozen 600 ohm 100 or 200 watt glowbars from
electronic goldmine for a few dollars each. I'm sorry I don't remember
the price. I have the intension of putting hose clamps on the ends and
then fastening them down to copper busses and building a cage around the
whole thing. I still have them and do intend to use them but there may
be more available. Go here "http://www.goldmine-elec.com/" for the web
site and have them send you a catalog or just inquire to see if they
have more. Sometimes they still have things that they don't list in the
catalog any longer.

Do you know of or do you have a schematic of such a high wattage Dummy
Load? I have seen one built which belonged to W5TOP's Dad that he built
back in the 40's. It must be capable of holding a current flow in
excess
of 5KW. I've tried to find one of these but there simply isn't any out
there that I've found. I would like the source of the "Glowbars" and a
schematic if you have one or if its in one of the older Handbooks,
'Which One'?
Thanks in advance.
Tony/W5OD
