Sudden car expenses call for cash, so I have some equipment for sale.
Hallicrafters sx17...looks brand new, works like brand new,
good push pull audio output, with manual (copy).
This is a really neat receiver, usable as an AM receiver,
the only 'problem' is the frequency resolution on the dial,
but has a very nice band spread.
Selectivity is good, wide and narrow, wide is hi fi,
narrow is narrow enough for most crowded band conditions,
has a crystal filter as well.
It has a bfo with variable injection level, works
ok on ssb and cw, like the typical bfo radios...
With the addition of an outboard digital frequency display
($50.00) it would be great.
The outboard frequency displays don't require any direct hookup,
just a turn of wire close to the LO.
Since its super clean, I would want $300.00.
I also have a Collins KWM2a with two power supplies.
One fits onto the back of the rig (re capped), the other is
the BIG separate power supply.
The KWM2a is in fair cosmetic shape, works very well with
no known problems, has good tubes, and the ircc tube shields.
$600.00 for the rig and both power supplies.
I would not want to ship the stuff, especially the sx17, as
its heavy, and works well.
Who knows what dropping it off a truck would do to it
even if boxed up well...
I am in South Jersey, and could drive to deliver the
equipment (or half way).
Or you can try the equipment in my shack.
