[AMRadio] Subbands and AM (soapbox)

Unfortunately what these 'sub-band people' don't realize is
that once the older modes have been 'deregulated out of ex-
istance', it will be THEIR turn.  Just listen to the talk
about taxing eMail... :-(

It may not happen in the next 5, 10 or 20 years, but I for-
see regulations being manipulated to the point of making ALL
hobby radio operators criminals, so that the spectrum can be
re-allocated to the highest bidders.  Follow the money!
(and the SWL hobby wouldn't be too far behind that)

Big Business and Big Brother, I'm sure are not content with
the size of their current chunk of the pie, and I figure are
ALWAYS looking for more and better ways to get MORE!

As an AM enthusiast, perhaps it's time to get back into the
habit of keeping a loaded .45 next to the microphone...  Again...

I LOVE THE USA, but I 'trust' the government about as far
as I can throw it!  And I trust Corporate America even less.
