[AMRadio] PS Parts Wanted

Tom,
Why use the mercury vapor tubes?

I like the 15,000 volt one amp diodes, no filament transformer,
smaller than a tube, no toxic heavy metal in the house.

I sure would hate to drop an 866, how do you clean up
the mercury?....

The big diodes used to be $10.00 each or less, from
w2au silicone alley, or something like that.

Fair radio has the oil filled caps sometimes, and I think
I also saw some at a good price someplace else, but cant
remember where...

I will look for a filament transformer, I have some REALLY
ugly transformers that are probably something close to
what you are looking for.

What DOES one do with a REALLY ugly but working transformer?
Its too ugly to put in a radio, but you cant throw out
a working transformer...
Best to give it to someone and let it sit in THEIR basement...

For the resistor, you can use four 100K 100 watt resistors
in parallel, or two 50K 200 watt resistors, or 8 200K 50 watt
resistors, etc...
This also works in series, but I like parallel in case you blow one out, the
others still work...

Peter Dahl makes the chokes....a hi power swinging choke is
hard to find.
