That may not be mould.  It could be oxidation due to high humidity.  
Aluminium in particular turns into a white powder and even when it is 
removed an etched spot is left.  They need to increase the air circulation 
or install a dehumidifier.  Whether it is mildew or oxidation, that stuff is 
going to be ruined if they don't do something fast.

In a tight enclosure, when it gets cool the air inside contracts and sucks 
in moist air.  Condensation occurs, and when it gets warmer, the air expands 
and air escapes, but the condensed moisture stays in.  Oven time the 
moisture builds up until the humidity reaches nearly 100%.  Often everything 
in the enclosure sweats and becomes wet to the touch.  Equipment will not 
last long in that kind of environment.  It would be better to leave it 
outside exposed to the weather; at least it would dry out between rains.
