[AMRadio] Viking II Audio Mod Question: Thanks

One of the list members, and I would like to tell who it was but I've
misplaced the email, suggested I check to see if its the Ranger or Valiant
audio circuit.  By golly it is.  It is the 1st and 2nd audio amplifier and
the 12AU7 driver circuit.  It is not using the clipper or 6U4.  There are a
few resistor & cap value differences which will change the audio frequency
characteristics but it is definately the Valiant circuit.  

Now I won't debate the goodness or 'badness' of this mod because I don't
personally know how good it is.  I will troubleshoot it tonight and to find
out why its not working and see what it sounds like.

You know, original radio's can have good audio all by themselves.... Uh oh,
I can hear the hornets buzzin now  :^)
I wuz on 75 AM last night and talked to a fellow with a stock Viking 500 and
it sounded great.
