Hello all AM,ers!
The home brew receiver is under construction!

I have based the design roughly on parts of the Scott SLRM design...
One stage of rf amp with tuned circuits on the input and output,
mixer with separate local oscillator, 455 kHz IF.

I am going to use octal sockets for everything, the tubes, the coils,
the IF transformers, the mechanical filter, etc.

I plan on getting some B+W coil stock for the coils, and
the tuned circuits should have a high Q using such coils.

The use of octal sockets will allow band changes and
changes in design and parts types without major reworking
of the chassis.

I have some holes for the regular tubes, vr tubes, the big electrolytic cap,
the AGC and s meter amp tubes and an extra one.

I decided not to include any audio amp, but make it line out,
as the chassis got plenty crowded even without it.

In preparation, I bought a new DMM that does the usual stuff plus
inductance (20 H to very low Uh), capacitance, and frequency to
40 Mhz.
I already measured and labeled my pile of power supply chokes, and
also measured some coil stock.
VERY handy to have around!

This project is going to be a lot of fun!
