Gentlemen:

This case is vexing to me. While Mr. Hayne probably can't do anything right
now, he does set a tone within the ARRL. From his pulpit he can exert
considerable influence over the thought of various groups, individuals and
employees.

Should we, as a group, go to the source collectively to press Mr. Hayne to
express his views clearly, then either support or attempt to change them,
depending on what they are? Has anyone contacted him to determine his
position? Should we (I believe we should)? I think he should express his
position for all to see which would determine my support for him in the next
election. If he supports our position he should use his pulpit to help
eliminate our problem as the ARRL has in past cases of interference.

The president of the ARRL has influence within and without the organization.
They are the most active organization that files rule making requests with
the FCC. The FCC listens to them because of their large number of members.
I feel we should, as representatives, of a growing segment of Amateur Radio
take Mr. Hayne to task about the comments reported on this reflector to
explain them...HIMSELF and not just speculate if he made them and what they
mean. Then if we do not agree we should band together and present our views
through some other venue. With the upcoming refarming of the bands imminent
we should make our voices heard.
