Especially when you upgraded from novice and were dying to get off crystal 
control and into the CW and phone portions of the band. I think I checked the 
mail EVERY day until my general ticket came. The bands were about 5 to 10 
percent SSB then and the rest AM and CW. I DO remember some other QSL's 
around now you mention it. I also remember if you sent for samples they would 
send you a bag full. Later, some even had CB calls on
