Hi!

Unless someone else has other information (which is quite possible!), last
night was probably the first *75 meter* class E to class E homebrew QSO in
history.

The Q5 QSO took place on 4-FEB at 11:00 PM between Fred, WA0GMH located in
MN, and Steve, WA1QIX in Townsend, MA.

Both amateurs were using low-cost, home built, solid-state class E MOSFET
transmitters, and both stations were running a fair amount of power -
particularly for solid-state. Fred was running approximately 150 watts, and
Steve was running 400 watts. Several other operators also were present for,
and participated in the QSO. Conditions were good, audio VERY good :-)

I wonder if any of the so-called "mainstream" pubs would be interested in
this? It would CERTAINLY cast AM in a light as a mode which spawns
innovation and new, interesting designs and is NOT a has-been, outmoded
method of communication. Anyone know how to contact them and/or does anyone
*have* access to these pubs, editors, etc?

Regards,

Steve, WA1QIX
