[AMRadio] Viking II Audio Mod Question: Thanks

Hi Don,

Nice to hear from you.  The Viking Desk Kilowatt is an oddball arrangement
isn't it.  I have a Desk KW that I run on AM all the time.  The Desk and my
Ranger II combination is my favorite AM rig.  You can see it on the cover of
ER in October I think.  Band conditions are so good that on 75 that I
checked into the SE AMI net a couple night ago with it.  W4AMI was net
control.  I recently purchased a Johnson #250-33 Speec Amp for driving the
Desk modulators directly, bypassing the Ranger II.  That will be fun to play
with.

I've had several fellows here on the lists tell me the same thing about the
Viking I and II audio, 'woefully inadequate' one guy said.  So with original
audio quality which is somewhere between 'woefully inadequate' and 'pure
crap', I plan to leave the mod in place :^)
