Actually I think the 35T is a great choice. That is an excellent tube in every respect. Great ratings. Solidly built. Low interelectrode capacitance so frequencies over 25mc are at least possibilities.
My only reason for not wanting to use one is selfish--I already have a rig that uses the 35T in a single-ended final--the Gross CB-80. So I want this rig to be something different.
Otherwise I think the 35T is a good choice!

PS: In response to those who have asked, I will get before and after pictures up on the web as soon as "after" is complete. I am working on the exciter right now. The RF deck and antenna tuner are done. The modulator is next.

Hi Don. I just wanted to point out that a 35T may not
be such a bad choice. According to the 1948 ARRL
Handbook (and other sources), the 35T has a 50 watt
plate dissipation rating, the same as the 50T and 808.
In plate modulated class "C" service, it is rated to
deliver 120 watts output, vs 105 watts for the 808.
