This should be a whole discussion category of its own. It is amazing to me to see WWII-era gear included in a vision of the FUTURE! The one that always catches my eye is the command set control box that is in the foreground in an early scene in the movie ALIEN with Sigourney Weaver. Look for the part where she says "That's not our system..." in the lower half of the picture. From B-17 to star-freighter--now that's technology that lasts!

I just dug up "Day of the Triffids"(1963)which
I recall having the lead character tuning around on
a large radio. I will run the tape and see if it is recognizable.
Frame by frame is a wonderful thing.
Believe it was set in Britain so probably either a Racal
or RCA.
Anyone remember that flick?
