[AMRadio] Anyone have a source for speaker repair

You may not have to replace it. Find a jar of airplane dope (yep, the
sniffer's glue) at a hobby store. Obtain the non-shrink type if it is
available. This glue is used to attach and coat paper or light fabric to a
frame in order to construct the surfaces of a model airplane.

Dunk the tip of a wooden toothpick into the glue, and use it gently to
saturate the paper along torn edges.

Rejoin the paper. It doesn't take much, use sparingly and keep the cap on
the jar, as the solvents in the glue evaporate quickly. Try not to
introduce any stress in the paper when you bring it back into position, and
check that the center coil rides freely around the magnet.

Check carefully, you'll probably discover several spots where the speaker
cone has developed paper cracks, particularly around the outer edge of the
cone. Many times, a small droplet of glue, spread along the length of the
crack with the toothpick will be all that is necessary to rebuild the paper.

You can reapply the glue as it will dissolve any previously applied if you
need to fix up a spot. Let the glue dry, and you're back in business.
