           I would have to disagree with some of the above. The reason
you see lower fluid levels in the master cylinder is caused by brake pad/shoe
wear. As the pads wear, the caliper pistons have to move further out in their
bores to effect braking. This takes more brake fluid..........VOILA, lower
levels in the master cylinder. ANY leak in the brake hydraulic system (however
small), would introduce AIR into the brake system. This would bring about major
problems very
quickly.
