Hello all AM'ers!
Mike sent me some nice 455khz crystals and sockets
(thanks Mike), and I built up a 455khz oscillator
in the homebrew receiver.
I have a pot in the screen circuit, and can vary the
output quite a lot, without any frequency change.
It works very well for zero beating received signals,
and I can even copy ssb or cw.
 
It will also be handy for any future alignments of the if
amplifier and filter.

If I turn it down to a low output level, its easy to 
notice that a lot of AM guys don't zero beat very 
well/often.
Its nice that we don't HAVE to....
