As part of our Homeland Security Grant $$$, Mason County DEM received two of
these radios including the EJ-41U TNC modules.
Is anyone out there using this radio for APRS? I am familiar with the
Kenwood D700 but not this Alinco DR-135T, Mark II.
If so, can you fill me in as to what the capabilities are as a tracker.
Will it functions as a full blown tracker without having a computer
attached? Can I run it as a tracker and connect a computer at times to
monitor what is going on (similar as to what I can do now with our KB7UVC-1
ComVan tracker where I can plug a computer into the KPC-3+ TNC and run
WinAPRS. Our plan is to replace our existing archaic radio used in our
ComVan tracker with one of these new radios)?
Can you supply me with typical set up parameters for making it work as a
tracker and as a full blown APRS station when we attach a computer at times.
You all know me, I am trying to take the easy way out and not have to read
the manual. Heaven forbid, Herb have to read. Hi, hi....
Thanks,
Herb, KB7UVC
