It makes sense that the low power RF is probably the drive for the power
amp. It just seems odd to me that with a dead RF module the input power
still passes through apparently quite well as I still have good tx
range. I would have expected a short or open..?

Oh well.=20

I did check RFPARTS, and the module is about $53.=20

I figure I can pick up another used radio with equal or better
capabilities for not much more $$, but I like my 130. I have the memory
expansion in it for 100 channels and it does great for my VHF needs
until I stumble upon some great all-mode VHF deal.

First I'm going to check and see if anyone has another DR130 they'd like
to unload cheap. I don't care if it is working or not as long as it has
a working RF amp..

Anyone have a DR130 they want to part with cheap?? Radio doesn't have to
work or look good - I just want a working RF module!

Bill...

I'm not familiar with this particular model, but on a Kenwood I had a
similar
problem. For low power, they just took the input to the final amp and
sent it to the
output. For high power, they sent the same signal thru the final amp
and then to the
output for high power. Take a look at : http://www.rfparts.com/ for a
replacement
module. I've had good luck dealing there, and you may find your module
at an
attractive price.
