Please join members of the Arlington Amateur Radio Club (AARC), the
Alexandria Radio Club (ARC), and the Pentagon Amateur Radio Club (PARC)
for the annual Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Jamboree on the Air (JOTA)
scouting / amateur radio operating event.
This radio operating event is the largest Scouting event in the world and
is held annually the third full weekend in October to mentor Scouts of
all ages in the art and skill of amateur radio.

Lady Bird Johnson Park / Columbia Island Marina is on an island in
the Potomac River near the Pentagon.
While it is part of the District of Columbia, it is located on the
Virginia side of the river and can only be reached from the southbound
lane of the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
We will be conducting both voice and digital amateur radio operations
from picnic tables set up on the water�s edge under the shade trees -
bring a sack lunch and your lawn chair.
A radio merit badge session covering the basics of radio technology will
begin at 12:30 PM to assist Scouts with radio merit badge
requirements.
Free amateur radio exams for Technician class, General class, and Amateur
Extra class available throughout the day.
Free parking, public restrooms, and a full service restaurant are located
at Columbia Island Marina.
