Also, Rig Expert just announced new models of the Stick line up to 1000MHz, plus others that go up to 3GHz.

Don,

Thanks for the info. I highly recommend the Rig Expert products. They are
costly, but the functionality, precision, and ease of use far exceed the
MFJ analyzers. I recently got one and am very satisfied.

I have two MFJ analyzers (266B/259D) and both bit the dust in the last few
weeks.

The 266B was mighty fine junk from the beginning, though I could make it
work with some persistence. It cannot hold a frequency whatsoever. Whenever
I set the VFO to the desired frequency, it began a rapid countdown. It
eventually got so fast I could barely keep up. Now the screen just reads
"Output Error."

I dropped the 259D (so my fault) and it no longer outputs accurate
readings. Everything has the same SWR, Z, R, etc. Could probably be
repaired by the right person. The frequency was always a little jumpy on
this one too, but manageable. If I understand correctly, the circuitry in
these are highly sensitive to heat.

If anyone has experience troubleshooting analyzers, you are more than
welcome to have a look!

For those thinking about buying an antenna analyzer, attached is a great
comparison of analyzers that I have never seen before now.  NanoVNA
analyzers are also available and cheap, but for those who like to tinker
with antennas, a dedicated antenna analyzer may be the best choice.
Further, the importance of a properly functioning antenna almost certainly
means never travel without a functioning antenna analyzer with good
batteries.
