Fellow Hams,

Please join members of the Arlington Amateur Radio Club and Alexandria Radio Club at the LBJ Memorial Grove / Columbia Island Marina this Saturday, July 25 from 0800 to 1200 as we conduct an organized Parks on the Air (POTA) activation.  The weather forecast is is looking awesome!

It is a great chance to get out of the shack and check your gear, practice operating procedures, and chew the rag with other hams.  Everyone is welcome whether you are already a ham or are interested in becoming one. 
 
If you are new to POTA this is a great location since it lies at the intersection of multiple parks.  If you can't make it person, feel free to hunt and spot us. I have some new gear I plan to try on the 20m and 40m bands.

If this is your first time coming to Columbia Island I recommend using a map app.  The location is only accessible from southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway and it is easy to miss the exits.
