CQ All-
Coming off of the momentum of last Friday's club meeting, I'm going to go
ahead and get an earlier start for the "asks" for NCS' for February!
DSTAR Wednesday: 4, 11, 18 and 25 Feb
2m Thursday: 5, 12, 19 and 26 Feb
The numbers of our regular net controllers continues to dwindle, so if
you've taken the NCS training within the last couple of years or if you've
not taken the training and want to "grip it and rip it," you're more than
invited to take on a NCS shift as well. As a reminder, the training is
not a "gatekeeper" process, it is provided to help those who have never
operated a controlled net as the NCS to become more comfortable with net
operations prior to saying "QST, QST, QST."
SPECIAL NETS- We'll try again for the "smorgasboard" of special nets for
next month. I only received responses from 4 members regarding one or all
of the special nets that we planned on having for this month. I'll put
the same offerings on the table as the last request:
- One daytime HF net on 10, 20, 40 or 80 meters
- One 70cm net
- One 6m FM repeater net
- One 220 UHF net.
At the last club meeting we had a robust discussion about the utilization
of our club repeaters, and other than the occasional ragchew, scheduling a
special net is one of the ways to encourage use of repeaters other than the
2m one. If you're interested, please respond so I can gauge the level of
potential participation before I schedule. If it's only 4 or 5 people,
probably not enough for me to make the effort to hard schedule.
Thanks for participating... 73 and we'll see you down the log!
