Members of the Pentagon Amateur Radio Club (PARC), Arlington Amateur 
Radio Club (AARC), and the Alexandria Radio Club (ARC) will be 
conducting both voice and digital amateur radio operations from 
Columbia Island Marina located on the Potomac River near the Pentagon.

Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), the largest Scouting event in the world, 
takes place annually during the third weekend of October to mentor 
Boy Scouts of all ages in the art and skill of amateur radio.

This annual global operating event allows Boy Scouts to use amateur 
radio to connect with hams around the world.

Radio operators set up portable operating gear, erect wire antennas 
in trees, and make HF radio contacts with JOTA stations located 
around the world.

A radio merit badge session covering the basics of radio technology 
will be offered to assist Scouts with radio merit badge requirements.

Free amateur radio exams will be offered for Technician class, 
General class, and Amateur Extra class.

Radio operation will be conducted from picnic tables set up on the 
water's edge under the shade trees - bring a sack lunch and your lawn chair.

Free parking, public restrooms, and a full service restaurant are 
located at Columbia Island Marina.
