CQ All-
It's that time of the month again to start looking for stations who want to
be NCS's for our DSTAR and 2m nets for April!
DSTAR Wednesday: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 April
2m Thursday: 3, 10, 17, 24, April
Ian will be traveling throughout the month, so we will need substitute
controllers for all of the DSTAR nets in April. If you volunteer for NCS,
you need to have the ability to turn on the 62b reflector so our
out-of-town stations can check in.
I am still looking for more "voices" to jump in as both 2m and DSTAR
controllers as we are dwindling down to a handful of stations who are
volunteering to carry out the nets each week. If you've never been a net
controller before and would like to do it before jumping into the fray
(especially on Thursday nights), I would highly recommend taking my NCS
training class for a couple of reasons:
-It's good training, period. Everyone that has taken the Zoom class gets a
lot of good knowledge out of it.
-This is a good chance to test your rig to ensure you have a good signal
(preferably full quieting) into the repeaters.
-The practice net we conduct is also good training and we will throw
scenarios at you that could happen during a regularly scheduled net.
Four students is my class minimum, especially to make the practice nets
useful.
Lastly, if you're interested in a 220 net separate from 2m or DSTAR, please
respond to this email! I'd like to get it on the calendar for early to
mid April and most likely on a Monday or Tuesday with a 1930 start time.
I'm also thinking that we will take a 2m net night and turn it into a 70 cm
net night to warm up that repeater as well.
73 and we'll see you down the log!
