Ladies and Gentlemen,

The ARC has been requested to provide a briefing on radio communications to the Alexandria Teen CERT group next weekend at the EOC. This brief would stay high level and focus mainly on FRS / GMRS / Amateur gear and capabilities / limitations. As I begin to pull this together, I was wondering whether or not we have a briefing that I could update or at least some radio graphics or images of some FRS / GMRS / Amateur radios and related gear including antennas, repeaters etc.

The delivery will be in two parts. First the presentation to lay some groundwork and second a show & tell of different kinds of radios in both HT and Mobile configurations.

>From a broader perspective, we, the ARC, need a Command Brief to show the extent of our activities and our capabilities. This pitch for the CERT is a good starting point that we can add to. The Command Brief would have multiple uses from recruitment to educating senior City management on what the ARC is all about.

So, I'm soliciting help from all members (or friends of members) who have anything to contribute to this noble effort. I need a design or theme for the layout of the brief and then some radio graphics or images of radio gear.

As an example, when I was in the IT game, there was software called Smart Draw or Net Draw which was like IT PowerPoint. The package came loaded with a graphics library of all things IT from routers and switches to workstations and servers to data centers and wireless devices and everything in between even some vendor specific graphics. All that was necessary to build a brief was to plan the content to support whatever message was being delivered, plug in the type and number of graphic images required and add text. Done!
Unfortunately, I have found no such application for anything radio. I could get it done in PowerPoint but I'm not sure it would be the professional quality presentation I am looking for. I would welcome the opportunity to try some new software out if its available.

If you have knowledge or background on any of this graphics or presentation business, I would welcome the assistance. Please get back to me soonest as I'm less than a week out to deliver on this request.

Thanks!
73,
Sean
