Gary beat me to it. He's named the dedicated crew that came to represent our club and the ham radio community.

Dozens of people stopped by at our tables. We showed off what modern radios can do and talked up our role in emergency communications and service to Alexandria. We encouraged folks to join a club, get a license, and get active. We hope to see some at our Field Day.

Thanks to Gary, Sean, Stex, Joe K, and Bjorn.

Subject: [Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] ARC at D-Day commemoration 6/1/2025

Alexandria Radio Club (ARC) members Gary Sessums-KC5QCN, Sean Gallagher-K4KBK, Stefano Fonda-K4IEW, Jan Maas-KB2LRX, Joe Kalfa-KD2HZG, and Bjorn Jernudd-KC3AOO participated in the City of Alexandria 2025 D-Day Commemoration to mark the 81st Anniversary of the D-Day landings and invasion of Normandy during World War II.

The program included live period music, WWII reenactors, history displays, community tables, performances by the U.S. Army Fife and Drum Corps, and the Alexandria Citizens Band.

The event was held on Sunday June 1, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Old Town neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

The team setup a battery powered portable amateur radio station and antennas, distributed club flyers, answered questions from the community, while demonstrating voice and digital modes of amateur radio, including the use of Winlink email over ham radio.

A photo of the ARC team at work is attached.
