There had been a strange carrier bringing up the 147.315 repeater for
about 10 to 12 days every 90 seconds. I timed the keying of the
repeater to once every 90 seconds. You could set your watch with
it.It went beyond annoying.

The repeater technicians went to work chasing it down. We believe it
was an unlicensed Part 15 device that was operating on the same
frequency or very near the frequency of the remote receiver link
frequency. The transmitter was physically close enough to the
repeater site to be heard on the link receiver, but far enough away to
not be a full quieting signal and very low power.

No telling what the device was. It could have been a home security
system, a weather station or something else that transmits a signal on
a regular basis in that part of the spectrum. It is not unusual to
find these devices scattered around various parts of the spectrum.
Those devices have to accept whatever interference a licensed service
causes them.

A couple adjustments were made to the link receiver. I have not heard
the constant keying of the repeater since those adjustments were made.
.

The repeater appears to be back to normal operation.
