Please see the message below from Chris Bruce regarding Amateur Radio testing.

Greetings,

The VDEM Amateur Radio Team – ARCA will be activating the station at the VEOC on August 16th at 11am.

The goal of this activation is to allow stations around the Commonwealth to conduct testing with the Virginia EOC (VEOC) radio room. This is not meant to be an exercise and there is no formal message traffic expected, this is just a chance to test various ways to make contact with the station at the VEOC.

The testing will begin around 11am. Detailed information about the testing plan / schedule will be posted on the ARCA website sometime on Wednesday August 13th; https://www.n4vem.net/status/. This will include a schedule for when we will be on what repeaters / frequencies, an updated ICS-205 will also be available.

If you are unsuccessful contacting the VEOC via radio or to discuss best methods to contact the VEOC please call the radio room via landline , 804-371-4146, after the scheduled test periods so we can work through any challenges and document them.

Please pass this information on to any groups, teams or individuals that might be interested in testing with the VEOC.

If you have questions about the testing or the VDEM – ARCA team please feel free to reach out to me or Reid Barden, ARCA Team Lead, n1vcu at n4vem.net<mailto:n1vcu at n4vem.net>.

I look forward to working with everyone on the 16th.

73 – Chris – K9CLB
