[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Connecting with local Scout groups

In the spirit of supporting the national Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) weekend, the Arlington, Alexandria and Pentagon Radio Clubs will be co-sponsoring a JOTA session on 19 Oct from 0800-1400 hrs at the Columbia Island Marina.  In order to ensure maximum success with this event, we are asking the members of the sponsoring clubs who are also associated with any local scouting groups to reach out and invite the scouts to participate in this JOTA session.  Those scouts that participate will be eligible to receive a Radio Merit badge from their parent unit.  
 
The Columbia Island Marina is a great facility for this type of event.  It has plenty of parking available along with a full-service restaurant and restroom facilities.  Bring the whole troupe and make a day of it.
