Thanks for that info Rick. I was just getting ready to put this notice out after catching up with it in the Am Legion May newsletter. Surprised we didn't see more on this earlier through the City's labyrinth of news services! Will advise if I see anything concerning a memorial gathering in the future although as we're now more than two months beyond the fact, it may have already occurred.

RIP Your Honor!

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Hon. Robert “Bob” T.S. Colby, a longtime Alexandria resident, passed away April 16 at age 95 at Inova Alexandria Hospital. He was an Alexandria General District Court judge for more than 40 years.

Judge Colby served in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of brigadier general in the U.S. Army Reserve. He flew planes as a private pilot and taught future pilots as an aviation educator.

For many years, he was a member of the Advisory Council Board with the Alexandria Chapter of The Salvation Army.

Judge Colby is survived by his wife Lynn Julia (LJ) Pendlebury Colby, daughters Susan Colby Hedrick (Springfield, VA), Wendy Colby (Airville, PA), Alyce Austin Horwat (Lewis Center, OH), Angela Scudder Colby (Westbrook, CT), and Ellen Pruschowsky (Sterling, VA). He was the grandfather of 11, and a great- grandfather to many.

---------------------------------------------
A memorial gathering will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his name to The Salvation Army Alexandria VA Citadel Corps, 1804 Mt. Vernon Ave. Alexandria, VA 22301;
or to World Central Kitchen.

>
> Bob Colby was active in the Alexandria Radio Club from I think, 1971. He made many donations to the club as well as providing summer classes for youth groups in both aviation and amateur radio.
