Looks like the weather will not be so intense over the next few days so here's a local opportunity to get out and have some fun. The Arlington Amateur Radio Club is conducting a POTA activation at Columbia Island Marina. This location is a six pack site so you and your distant end will get 6X the points for each contact. The session will run from 8-1130. Columbia Island Marina is only accessible from southbound GW Parkway. If coming up the parkway northbound, proceed to the rotary at Memorial Bridge and come on back south. Else, 395N to Exit 8B Washington Blvd (Rt27) and proceed along by the Pentagon passing the exit for North Parking / Rt 110 and taking the very next exit that shows a route back to 395 at the 14th St bridge. Marina is on the right before you get there. POTA setup will be along the banks of the water west of the boat docks. As POTA will be run on HF freq, you must possess a General license in order for you or your contact to gain points.
Hope to see you out there!
73,
Sean
