[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Upcoming Participation Events: 19 February & 27/28 January

Fellow members,
 
We have a couple events on the upcoming calendar that we need your support for.  The larger effort will be focused on supporting the GW Parade on 19 February. 
 
For 2024, Heath Wells has graciously stepped up to coordinate our efforts.  This event is a lot of fun in an outdoor environment and is punctuated by a late Club lunch at Glory Days on Duke St immediately following.  All that is needed is a 2M radio and a willingness to bring order to chaos!!   The parade runs from 1-3PM and we normally start to assemble downtown around 930-10 with coffee and doughnuts at the trailer.  While more details and prep instructions will be forthcoming, for now just contact Heath at heath.wells.esq at gmail.com mailto:heath.wells.esq at gmail.com and tell him you want to be included on the Parade Team.
 
The second event is the Winter Field Day (WFD).  We are intending to conduct Winter Field Day at Station 210 on 27/28 January but there's a small wrinkle.  Station 210 is currently being used by local and federal authorities for the arson investigation of the warehouse fire that occurred on Wheeler Ave a week or so ago.  We are working through the EMO and AFD to determine if the investigation will be complete prior to 27 January and if not then the question is, is there an alternate site available with attributes that could support our WFD efforts. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
 
For now, please contact me if you have an interest in conducting WFD and if you would be able to help coordinate the effort as lead.  We will continue to work diligently to secure a proper site and the plan for Winter Field Day.
