Happy Saturday and Happy New Year, ARC!   First of all, I'd like to thank
Jeff, KQ4CMA, who stepped up while I was OCONUS over the Christmas and New
Year's holiday break.  So I am back in the saddle now.

But... it looks like we didn't get many net controller signups for this
month.  There are still plenty of Thursday 2m slots and Wednesday DSTAR
slots available to give Ian a break.  We have done extraordinarily well in
previous months- as a matter of fact all of 2023- getting all of our nets
controller slots slated prior to the next month.  So this lackluster start
to 2024 is a bit disappointing.   So if you're able, willing and available,
send me an email and we will get you slated for a net or two or three.  I
hope we won't have to spend all of Thursday PM nets this month at
1955 hours saying over the repeater, "Is anyone available to take tonight's
net?"

NET CONTROLLER CLASSES-  There are now three signups for a NCS training
class... Alex K04ZMC, Derek KQ4NAI, and Sean K4KBK.  If one more person
signs up, that's a quorum and I'll get a NCS training scheduled between
late January and mid-February.  Once the training "week" has been set
(Monday PM for Zoom class and practice net and Saturday afternoon for
student run nets) I'll put out those dates to the club.  I'll need some
"elmers" to help out as check-ins and traffic for the nets as several of
you have done in the past.

Glad to be back, and we'll see you down the log.
