Thanks Jeff! So what does /MYRADIO mean on DSTAR? It's a 4-character
field in the DSTAR protocol (Icom or Kenwood) that you can put anything you
like. However, the type of radio you're on is the most useful data here
because it tells others how to route to you through a DSTAR repeater
stack. E.g., D74, D75, ID1, 9700, 2820, 880H, 91AD, IC92, you get the
idea. Yes, a 2m-only radio can talk to a 23cm-only radio by selecting the
appropriate RPT1 and RPT2. Other things like "IAN" or "AMBE" or "FM18"
belong in the free form message slot.
