Sean (K4KBK), Bob (KO4ZIK), Jan (KB2LRX) and I participated in CERTCON 2022.

Announce!

 

CERTCON 2023 will take place Saturday October 21 and Sunday October 22 at
the University of the District of Columbia.  This year's theme is "Community
Ready: Neighbors Helping Neighbors." It will feature presentations for both
the general public and volunteer responders such as CERTs. You and your
family, friends, work colleagues, and neighbors are invited. Please spread
the word!  See the website https://www.certcon.org/. 

 

Saturday's agenda starts with a plenary session that includes a roundtable
discussion by different volunteer organizations. The remainder of the day
has a wide variety of presentations 10:45 am to noon, 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm, and
2:30 pm - 3:45 pm.  For Sunday afternoon, you may take part in a mass
casualty incident exercise, play the Disasterville game, or hear about
animal preparedness. Separately, you can socialize and meet other emergency
volunteers on Friday evening October 20 at Flavor Garden, 4400 Connecticut
Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008.

The UDC campus has a Metro station on the Red line at Van Ness. The UDC
public parking garage is at 4200 Van Ness Street. The daily parking rate is
$20.
