CQ ALCON-

We have had another successful "all call" in getting out NCS assignments
slated for the next five weeks. Thank you to all of the volunteers who
have stepped up to ensure mission success in our net control efforts.

2m NCS Volunteers:
7th WD4ADF
14th N4ASK
21st KQ4CMA
28th KQ4CMA
5 Oct WA6MPR

DSTAR NCS Volunteers (all other dates N8IK):
20th KQ4CMA
27th KQ4CMA

If you'd like to take on a DSTAR net during this time or act as a backup
controller (we always need a back up in the event a NCS cannot make the
net), please send me an email and let me know your availability to act as a
backup NCS. And now for a couple of Public Service Announcements:

NET CONTROL TRAINING- Unfortunately, we didn't meet the threshold of 4
students to conduct NCS training... only 2 members requested it. So we'll
hold off for a couple of months and see if there is more interest in the
NCS training in the October/November timeframe.

NEW HAMS NET:

This is an idea that my "other" club "north of the border" does on occasion
is a New Hams Net. They conduct a New Hams Net about once every couple of
months when they have an influx of newly licensed operators and/or new
members joining the Northern Alberta Radio Club. If this is of interest to
the membership, since we seem to be growing, it's worth a discussion at the
September club meeting.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend.... 73 and we'll see you down the log!
