[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Notification of Alexandria Radio Club Upcoming Business Meetings

This is a reminder to members of Alexandria Radio Club that current
membership dues must be paid in order to maintain good standing for voting
and participation in club business meetings.  The October 13th and November
10th club meetings will be business meetings.

 

At the October 13th meeting, there will be a referendum on a proposal for
Alexandria Radio Club to apply for "Tax-exempt Status" under IRS rules.
Currently, the club pays taxes to the IRS and the State of Virginia on dues
that are paid by club members, and for donations to the club.  A "yes" vote
to the proposal at the October meeting would allow the club with a
"Tax-exempt Status" to keep all of the dues that club members pay in the
future.  A read-ahead package with full details about the proposal will be
forwarded to club members "in good standing" by the end of this week.  Club
members are strongly urged to carefully read and examine the proposal so
that full discussions with questions and comments may be given prior to a
vote when the proposal is presented at the October meeting.

 

At the November 10th meeting, annual elections for club officers and
directors will be conducted.  The announcement for opening of nominations
for club officers and directors for 2024 will take place at the October
meeting.
