[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Net Controllers Solicitation 2m and DSTAR November & December

CQ CQ All-

It's that time again to start soliciting for net controllers for our DSTAR
Wednesday and 2m Thursday FM Nets.   Since we are rapidly approaching the
end of the year and the holiday season, I'm going to try to see if we can
get all of our nets filled from now until the end of the year.   Of note, I
will be OCONUS during Christmas and will not be returning to the area until
after New Year's 2024.

DSTAR Wednesday:  15, 22 and 29 November, 6, 12, 20 and 27 December
2m Thursday:  16 Nov- KQ4DNE, 23 (No net possibly?) and 30 November. 7, 14,
21 and 28 December.

Please let me know what nets and dates you'd like to take for 2m or to give
N8IK a break on DSTAR, and we'll get you slated as a NCS!

OTHER NET NEWS:

-We discussed the concept of a "New Hams Net" at our last club meeting in
October.  I'd like to try that out in November, most likely on a Monday
evening with a potential start time of 1930 local.  More details
forthcoming soon.

-Since it's been a while since we've had Net Controller Training, I'm
willing to put the offer out again to have NCS Training starting in January
2024.  Need 4-6 prospective students for the session to optimize the
training time.  We'll stick with our well receive format of a video class
on the Monday of NCS training with a practice net after the course (me
being the NCS) and then on that Saturday PM, student net controllers will
run their own "mini nets" (under instruction).   The last two times I've
offered NCS training, I've only had 2 or 3 hams express interest, so we'll
try it again for early next year.
