And I mentioned Jean Shepherd, fascinating guy with a long and varied presence in radio, print, television and movies (including writing & narrating “A Christmas Story”) from the 50s to 90s. Marshall McLuhan said he invented talk radio, and spun out a new kind of novel off the top of his head every night. People were rolling tape recorders during his nightly shows from the start and plenty of those are online. My favorite stash is “The Brass Figlagee”. Go forth and enjoy getting comfy on the air.
