[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Russia interfering with the amateur bands?

I have heard it as well around 7 MHz.
In the early 1980's Russia (USSR) was using Over the Horizon Radar on
the HF bands., It was everywhere. It sounded like a woodpecker and
it was called the "Russian Woodpecker" by hams all over the world.
After a while, the USSR shut it down. Nobody really knows why, but
while it was running, it was a major annoyance. Russia may be using
an upgraded version to track Ukrainian activities. Doesn't surprise
me..
