> Just want to let you all know that I've received your registration for the Historic Half. Below is the recruiting email I sent out just a few minutes ago to my club. It has a link to my website (stole the idea from Dave so it should look familiar) with all the information and maps for the event. If you have a location preference please email me and let me know.

> This is my initial recruiting plea for the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon. It will be held on Sunday, 21 May (37 days away). The race will start a little earlier this year at 0600. This will mean that everyone will need to be up and have their coffee early. Check-ins will be at 0515. The race course has also shifted from last year moving all the mile markers and some of the Aid Stations and Water Points. I have posted all the information on this year's event (including the new maps) to https://www.aresfredva.net/event/MCHH/MCHH.html. Please look at the maps before volunteering this year.
>
> To sign up for the event you MUST register with the Marine Corps Marathon at https://xactllc.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=71743. Look for "Sunday, May 21st" and then "HAM Radio - Amateur Radio Operator (Licensed Operators Only)". When registering you can put your desired position in the "Additional Comments" or "Any notes for the Volunteer Coordinator?" field or you can email me this information at rvarcevents at gmail.com <mailto:rvarcevents at gmail.com>. AN EMAIL ONLY WILL NOT REGISTER YOU!! I will receive notification from the MCM when people register for the event and can pull the information from the registration portal. I will attempt to honor position requests on a first come first serve basis, but I reserve the right to place people where I need them. As of this evening there are 33 volunteer positions still open (some people knew the MCM already opened the portal).
>
> All assignments and overall information on the event will be posted to the https://www.aresfredva.net/event/MCHH/MCHH.html website. I will send out periodic emails to those that have volunteered. Everyone will need a MCM Ham volunteer vest and wrist band to wear on the day of the event. I have put a draft schedule for distribution on the website. I have to verify with the MCM that I can pick up the vests and wrist bands when I plan to.
>
> Please feel free to forward this email on to others I may have missed. I apologize for getting this out later than I wanted to. I was out of state for 2 week unexpectedly due to a family emergency. Please email me if there are any questions.
