MCM HAM Volunteers, 

 

Volunteer amateur radio operator training and equipment testing for the 47th
Marine Corps Marathon will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 0900-1400
at the MITRE Corporation campus in McLean, VA.

The questionnaire linked to this email collects information required for
access to the MITRE campus. PLEASE COMPLETE THIS SURVEY BY TUESDAY, OCTOBER
18 at 1200 ET UNLESS YOU DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS BELOW.

 

All attendees *must*:

1. Be a US citizen or permanent resident ("Green Card" holder.)

2. Have a valid, unexpired federal- or state-issued photo ID, and

3. Present a COVID vaccination card or other formal credential at check-in
showing they are fully-vaccinated (completed initial 2- or 1-shot  series -
no boosters required.)

 

Anyone who does not meet these requirements should plan to watch the
live-stream or recording of the training.

A complete agenda will be sent to you in a few days. The MCM medical staff
will provide orientation and training on what's expected of amateur radio
operators on the course and at MED/AID stations. We will also have a test
"range" set up for aid station operators who would like to test their AREDN
and D-STAR equipment.

 

We *may* have a team available to assist volunteers with programming the
event frequency plan into their radios (TBD.)

 

The training will be live-streamed and recorded for volunteers who cannot
attend in person.
