ALL,

This year's Field Day is JUNE 25th and 26th. It looks
like we are back at Armistead Booth Park. Not a great deal of space and
antenna supports are not as good as Hensley. But it has facilities and a
pavilion with space.

There is the POLE.

1.	Will you attend?
2.	Are you willing to operate for at least two hours at one of the
stations?
3.	What is better to have a schedule for each station or have operators
show up at random when they can?

a.	The last field day in the park we had schedules and allowed people
to HOLD a station for as long as they wanted to if no one else scheduled it.
This lead to the digital stations (2) being occupied but with no contacts
logged after the first two hours. If we go with scheduling a new rule would
be in effect that TWO operators could schedule ONE station for 4 hours and a
single operator for 2 hours and could NOT schedule the next 2 hour segment.
b.	We are a club of almost 100 members and we normally have 5 stations
up. This means that each station may need to support 20 members and we
only have 24 operating hours.

4.	Food - What are your opinions on food? We can go with simple
hamburgers / hot dogs, a pot luck where members contribute to the meals.
Do we want to do lunch before set up, Dinner Saturday evening, breakfast on
Sunday. Let me know what you think.
5.	Radios - The club owns 5 HF stations, but if club members want to
loan a station, let me know.
6.	Also, we need five band leaders (Captains). Band captains are
responsible for the WHOLE station. Radio, antennas, cable, logging
computer, shelter if not under the pavilion. We've never tried teams for
each band but some clubs do that. Your thoughts?
7.	Need a safety officer, Publicity officer VHF station
8.	Last time we have three stations on 40 meters CW, Digital and Phone.
They were killing each other. We can set up ONE antenna per band and
members can bring out stations that can work all modes as long as we log
properly, or have a digital radio, cw and phone radios for reach antenna and
take turns with the antenna and power.

I would like to see as many club members operate as we can and have NEW
operators get time to learn to operate .

Let me know what you would like with field day and how you can participate.

2022 Alexandria Radio Club Field Day Chairman.
