I too heard this as a rumor earlier in the week. It got me to accelerate my purchasing plan. (Their rebate runs through end of March, and I was going to buy one in March…)

I’m new to the 7100, but so far I love it. I’m on our 2m, 70cm, and DSTAR repeaters. DSTAR is brand new to me, so I’m struggling through that learning curve, but hope to check in on this week’s net.

My challenge will be putting some HF (and 6m) wire up in my townhouse attic, but I’m hoping to add one band at a time. I’ll be re-jiggering my 6m hamstick this week, as it was on the same feed line I was using for my 2m/70cm Yagi aimed at our repeaters. I’ll put it on its own feed line and start adding to that one. I have 6m and 10m hamsticks at this point.
