Alexandria George Washington's Birthday Parade on February 17th. Hello ALL, This is a heads up that we will need between 10 and 15amateur radio operators to support the annual George Washington's BirthdayParade in Alexandria. The club has supported this event for over 30 years DATE February 17th Parade is 1PM to 2PM but we need to be on site by 11 AMto set up and find parking. Normally, we meet at the Fire Training Center at 10AM to help with theTrailer and to make assignments. We then car pool to the finish area, meet with the marshals, set up thereviewing stand station and get AREDN set up between the Trailer and theReviewing Stand We work with the parade marshals (that may be CAP cadets) . By 12:30 we expect to collect all the changes at the Trailer and then sendthe updated file (order of march) to the reviewing stand. Parade steps off at 1PM and should be OVER at 3PM and then we generally gosomewhere for a late lunch and review of how we did. If you can volunteer please let me know. Also, If you have AREDEN, an APRS Handheld, let me know. You do NOT need to be an ARES volunteer to support this public serviceevent. This is one of the few events that the CLUB does for the city eachyear. As we (post COVID) meet in a city facility our support is important. 73 RickN4ASX ______________________________________________________________AlexandriaRadioClub mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/alexandriaradioclubHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:AlexandriaRadioClub at mailman.qth.netThis list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
