See the forwarded note and the attachment. Beginning March 1st SKYWARN volunteers will hold a weekly weather net on the Bluemont repeater. This will be at 8:30 PM on Tuesday evenings, following the Northern Virginia Traffic Net. They will be looking to spread the net control functions around. This will give potential NCS's some experience in running a net and existing NCS's a chance to polish their skills. It won't be a SKYWARN net but it will be tied into the SKYWARN program.

If the NWS person is doing it over the air, someone would have to be the control op at the station, but otherwise it is permissible. Just like handing the key to an EM.

I've attached the SKYWARN scripts I've been using. I'm not 100% happy with them yet but would like input from others as to what you think could be changed. Please drop me a line directly with any suggestions you have. Once we have it settled, we can upload it to the website.

Also, beginning March 1st we will hold a weekly weather net on the Bluemont repeater. This will be at 8:30 PM on Tuesday evenings, following the Northern Virginia Traffic Net. I'm also looking for ideas for programs for the net. On our quarterly conference call the question came up of someone from the NWS could present a program or would that be against FCC rules. From what I've found, this is incidental to the meteorologists' functions, so would not be a conflict. And if it were, no NWS personnel who had a ham license would ever be allowed to participate in a weather net - which obviously doesn't work.

I'm working on NCS Scripts but it's been a while since I've done this. If you have any scripts I can use for a template or ideas for a script, I'd appreciate you forwarding them to me.

TIA for any suggestions you have.
