[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] FW: My latest VOA report - Satellite Losses Show Threat Solar Storms Pose to Tech

Thanks to Steve Herman W7VOA, one of our club members; it is a pleasure  to pass along his latest published work.  This is an updated summary of solar geomagnetic storm threats to communications, particularly satellites.  As you may recall, last year Steve was published in the ARRL May/June ‘On The Air’ QST magazine.  Also, last year Steve gave a presentation to the Long Island CW Club on his journey from SWLing to VOA and the White House.  Steve is mostly recognized worldwide for his prominent role as a  journalist with Voice of America.   Kudos to Steve, again.
