This note is to offer an opportunity for Alexandria Radio Club members to
visit the National Museum of the United States Army this coming Tuesday,
August 9th. My retirement group has organized the visit to the new Army
museum which opened in 2020. The plan is to meet at 11:30 a.m. at the
Alexandria Mission BBQ restaurant for lunch and leave there early enough to
start a guided tour at 1:15 p.m. at the museum. The tour lasts about an
hour. From the restaurant, the Museum is a 10 minute drive.

The restaurant is located at 6482 Landsdowne Centre Alexandria, VA 22315.
Their menu is at https://mission-bbq.com/menu-b/.

The National Museum of the United States Army is located at 1775 Liberty Dr,
Fort Belvoir, VA 22060, there is no need to enter Fort Belvoir, itself. The
museum has parking accommodations for handicapped, and limited mobility
visitors; however, there is an approximately 150 yard walk to the museum
from this parking. I was told that it is possible to make arrangements for
golf-cart transportation from parking to the museum. I will make those
arrangements if we want them. I will also make the required visitor
reservations. We need to make a group reservation to avoid delays. See
museum policies below.

In order to finalize arrangements, I need to hear from those who plan to
attend no later than tomorrow. Thanks much.
