[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Licensing Classes Starting March 23

Several people have expressed interest in becoming initially licensed as Technicians or upgrading to General.

As I mentioned in the club meeting, we are ONLY taking online registrations through the club website https://w4hfh.org before March 18.  We will not allow late arrivals.  

In order to hand out books on the first night, Richard, KW4UJ, has arranged for us to use the Bingo hall at the Dunn Loring Fire Station, located at 2148 Galllows Road.  We will meet there at 7 PM, March 23. 

COVID-19 protocols dictate we can only have 10 people in the room at a time, so we will have to regulate the flow into the room.

You can bring your own book and skip the meet and greet at Dunn Loring, but you need to sign up by the March 18 cutoff.  You can order the books through American Radio Relay Leaguehttp://www.arrl.org  or through Ham Radio Outlet https://www.hamradio.com. 

If you choose that option, you can choose the "I have the book" option when you sign up.  Your cost should only be $20.  

The Technician book is the Ham Radio License Manual, 4th edition.  The General class book is the General Class License Manual, 9th edition.  Both of those locations will know which book you want.   DO NOT ORDER FROM AMAZON.  They have a history of sending outdated books.
