I second the DMRVA Codeplug. It's plug and play. My TYT MD 380 worked as it should when I loaded it.
As for the ID-51A, you can access use the DSTAR repeater without gateway registration. In order to use the gateway functions, you will need to register through DSTARUsrers.org. Here is the link to W4HFH:

Look for us at Berryville. We will be on 147.315 MHz, 446.025 MHz DSTAR and 441.000 MHz, color code 1, taklgroup 99 on DMR.
